Masisi is a Queer-Afro Caribbean collective, founded by Akia Dorsainvil, that celebrates the cultural lineage across the Afro-Caribbean diasporas through events and programming.
 
Together with Studio Monkey Shoulder we launched Masisi Radio – an independent online station for the local community of Black, Queer and Trans DJs and artists in Miami.
 
As an independent hub for self expression, the intention is to celebrate the diasporic Afro-Caribbean influence on Miami’s music scene and to platform the creativity of Masisi’s community through music and conversation.
 
To celebrate the launch, we hosted a series of Masisi Radio Takeovers on Worldwide FM, showcasing their roster of resident DJs covering an eclectic mix of music genres from Techno and Jersey Club to Jazz, Disco and Haitian voodoo sounds.
